Ignoring their $11 Billion deficit, California’s Democratic supermajority, including Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria & Gavin Newsom are plowing through $285 Million in taxpayer funds like a king tossing gold from the balcony…. all to conduct a special election for their prized Prop 50.
Their goal: override the will of more than 6 million voters who created the state’s independent Citizens Redistricting Commission in 2008.
Their plan? Force the DCCC gerrymandered maps on California residents—bankrolled by $97M from donors like Michael Moritz ($2.5M) and Planned Parenthood—to steal 5 House seats mid-decade and lock them in for 3 more election cycles.
Princeton Gerrymandering Project gave the legislation an “F” grade—calling the effort a “fairness-killer” while observers called the maps the worst in 60 years.
Yet in the same legislative session, Democrats (only 1 from Merced County) passed AB 1441 to strip local Merced county supervisors of redistricting power and create a “fair” citizen's commission.
So:
> Democrats voted to dismantle the voter-approved State redistricting commission.
> Democrats voted to mandate a county redistricting commission for “fairness”.
Make it make sense.
Prop 50 isn’t reform. It’s rigged rules for out-of-control politicians who want to be KING for the next 3 election cycles.
