RPMC Invests $5,000 in Darin DuPont Campaign, Its Second Candidate Contribution of 2026

The Republican Party of Merced County (RPMC) is proud to announce that the Central Committee has made a $5,000 contribution to Darin DuPont's campaign for California State Senate District 14.
This is the second contribution the RPMC has made to a Republican candidate during the 2026 midterm election cycle.
Earlier this year, the RPMC made its first $1,500 contribution to John Bliss for Merced City Council District 6, supporting his campaign to represent District 6 on the Merced City Council.
The RPMC believes that supporting strong Republican candidates is an important part of building a stronger Republican Party in Merced County and giving Republican voters candidates who are prepared to serve their communities.
Supporting Republican Candidates
Darin DuPont is seeking election to the California State Senate in District 14. At the same time, Mike Murphy is seeking election to the California State Assembly in District 27.
Both campaigns have established campaign operations in Merced County and are actively building their organizations and volunteer teams.
For the RPMC, supporting Republican candidates is about more than individual campaigns. It is about building a stronger Republican presence in Merced County and encouraging more Republicans to become involved in the political process.
"The RPMC is proud to make this $5,000 investment in a Republican candidate during the 2026 midterm election cycle," said Gene D. Johnson Jr., Chairman of the Republican Party of Merced County. "We have strong Republican candidates stepping forward to serve, and the Central Committee believes we should support those candidates and continue building our Republican organization here in Merced County."
The RPMC's $5,000 contribution was made directly to Darin DuPont's Senate campaign from the Republican Party of Merced County's state account and will be reported in accordance with applicable California campaign-finance requirements.
The Central Committee will continue working to recruit volunteers, expand Republican participation and support Republican candidates throughout Merced County and the Central Valley.
The RPMC is proud to invest in Republican candidates and proud to continue building a stronger Republican Party in Merced County.
